Preside by Side
A side-by-side comparison of presidential misconduct, weighted visually by severity.
A presidential comparison, rendered as bars.
Pick any two American presidents and stack their faults side by side. Each one's misconduct is rendered as a bar — wider, brighter, and louder when the severity is higher.
It is deliberately a partial view. Every president here also holds achievements this project sets aside on purpose, the better to see the low points laid out next to each other across parties and eras.
How it works
Every bar is a documented controversy, scandal, or policy failure — anchored to primary government documents, court rulings, inspector general reports, and established journalism. Initial 1–10 severity scores are AI-assisted estimates; readers submit their own, and the visualization re-weights from the running average.
